Reason for the project
Why it needed to exist.
Make the BP MS150 feel less intimidating for first-time riders by showing preparation, support, uncertainty, cause-driven motivation, and the real people behind a long-distance charity ride.
Goal / aim
What the film needed to make clear.
BP's First Time Riders film lowers the barrier to the BP MS150 by letting new cyclists talk through the ride before the start line. The edit moves from the BP MS150/bp opener into outdoor rider portraits, Christy Treat's name-card segment, bike and helmet prep, hydration moments, a Ryan-and-Kara paired rider scene, Houston skyline cycling, BP MS150 truck branding, and the #whyiride end card.
Production approach
How the story was built.
The 2:47, 720p film pairs soft outdoor interviews with bike closeups, shoe and helmet details, skyline riding, grass-and-park training texture, BP MS150 vehicle graphics, paired-rider moments, and a clean 'tell us why you ride' social CTA.
Result
Where the work landed.
A rider-recruitment and community-impact film that gives BP a warmer front door for explaining the MS150 experience, inviting first-time cyclists into the team, and turning #whyiride into a personal prompt instead of a corporate hashtag.
